Daily chart: American murder rates. Murder has become less common overall in America, but in some cities the crime has risen. Washington, DC, Detroit and Baltimore have made noticeable improvements over the past decade. But Newark, St Louis and New Orleans, long the nation’s murder capital, have become even deadlier.
Everyone told me Baltimore had the highest murder rates when I went to concerts there - high, but not the highest!
So excited to go to New Orleans. I’m also glad I got to spend some time alone in Newark this past summer -_______________-.
